The Lord is Close

Hello, Church Family!

Zack started our new sermon series on Psalms this past Sunday, and we’re focused on feelings. Feelings aren’t wrong and they're not shameful, but feelings do sometimes lie:

You may not feel like God cares about your life, but He does.

You may not feel like you have value, but you do.

You may feel like you’re all alone, but you’re not; we're here for you!

I know that many of you have felt all kinds of feelings lately. That’s why it’s more important than ever that we be aware of the role that our emotions play in our lives. You can either rule your feelings or be ruled by your feelings. So if you’re feeling down - Get down! On your knees and spend some time talking to God. Or, dig down! Into your Bible and see what God has waiting there for you! I want to leave you with this, from Psalm 34, verses 17 through 19:

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

I love you guys and I’m looking forward to gathering online to worship with you again this coming Sunday, as Chad bring us a message about worrying!

Everything Works Together for Good

It has probably been about 25 years ago since my dad gave me this advice. He said, “So many people focus on what they don’t have, I always try to focus on what I do have.” On Easter, that advice kept ringing in my ears. Easter looked different and so have the last few weeks. I began to think about what I do have. For starters Easter was truly intimate. I spent time with my wife and kids. We had a good time just being together and really enjoying what Easter really means. I also began to really think how blessed I was that my family is healthy. I thought about the peace I have knowing that Jesus is my spiritual father. I also was thankful that through technology, I to hear the word taught and was encouraged from many miles away. No matter what your present circumstances are, my prayer for you is that you will focus on what you have and it will encourage you this day. #jesusislife
